What We Did
AVITENG commenced operations by focusing on the studios, technical offices, and equipment rooms. Part of the works involved equipping the studios and offices with HVAC, electrical wiring, UPS units, and data and telephone infrastructure, as well as providing studio curtains and installing smoke detection and fire suppression systems. The required works included the provision of ventilation systems, electrical installations, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), data and telephony infrastructure, studio curtain delivery, and the installation of smoke and fire extinguishing systems for both studios and offices.
Following the infrastructure setup, AVITENG established a sophisticated and streamlined production and transmission environment compatible with the 1080p50 format, as designed for Syria TV. An end-to-end management system was implemented, featuring newsroom automation that manages RSS, e-mail, fax, and SMS, integrated with production automation, studio teleprompters, and live graphics systems.
The newsroom system features highly advanced social media integration. The system meets modern digital broadcasting needs, including ingesting and broadcasting content from YouTube (including scheduled broadcasts), tracking Twitter users and hashtags, monitoring trending topics, broadcasting on Facebook, and operating in full compatibility with Instagram.
Master Control automation was configured to control the video router, master control switcher, logo inserter, and live graphics. The traffic and scheduling system operates in full integration with Master Control and MAM (Media Asset Management), enabling scheduled content ingest. While NLE (Non-Linear Editing) stations allow for "edit-while-ingest" capabilities, live broadcast graphics are supported by NLE plugins for versatile results.
Production automation was integrated with Quality Control (QC) functions. The MAM system is integrated with HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) to provide an intelligent archiving structure between nearline and offline storage. Production automation ensures asset management by indexing media on video servers and automates general tasks such as proxy media generation and rendering. Users can quickly edit content and share it on social media via HTML5-based editors.
Syria TV possesses a fast and robust HD infrastructure for news content delivery. The production video servers are high-performance media servers capable of managing demanding processes, such as continuous recording and the editing of live media for instant playout. These servers simplify media management, provide storage savings, and offer an additional layer of redundancy for master control servers against potential failures.
As part of the turnkey studio lighting systems project, a set comprising ARRI S-30C and S-60C SkyPanel softlights, L7-C LED Fresnels, Coemar Ledko D daylight spot profile projectors, and Robe Robin 300 motorized moving head LED units was selected. The lighting control network, power distribution, and suspension systems were installed, commissioned, and delivered.
